Who we are
Homeio is a curated home & kitchen picks publication operated by MOHAMED ANAS V T (sole proprietor, Kerala, India). We share products we like, with affiliate links to retailers such as Amazon, and we sell a small number of picks directly, sourced from Meesho, with payment on delivery. This policy explains what data we handle when you use our website, place an order, subscribe to our newsletter, or interact with our Instagram account (@homeio_official).
What we collect
Browsing the site. You do not need an account to browse picks or follow an affiliate link. Basic, aggregated analytics may be collected to understand which pages are popular.
Ordering a homeio-sold pick. Placing an order requires signing in with Google, which creates an account identified by your Google email address. At checkout we collect your name, phone number and delivery address (street, landmark, city, state and pincode). We use this to fulfil the order: your name, phone number and address are shared with Meesho and the delivery courier they use, because they are the ones who ship the item and collect payment on delivery. When you enter a pincode, we send it to India Post's public PIN code API (api.postalpincode.in) to look up and prefill the city and state — that lookup leaves our systems. We confirm every order with you over WhatsApp before it is placed with Meesho. We do not use your order details for advertising, and we do not sell them.
Newsletter. If you subscribe, we store the email address you provide so we can send you our issues. You can unsubscribe at any time via the link in any email, and your address is then removed from our list.
Instagram interactions. When you comment on our posts or send a direct message to @homeio_official, we process that content through Instagram's official API to respond to you — sometimes with automated replies. We store the message or comment text, your Instagram username/ID, and our reply, solely to manage the conversation and improve our responses. We never use this data for advertising, and we never contact you outside the conversation you started.
Affiliate links
Product links on homeio may be affiliate links. If you buy through them, the retailer may pay us a commission at no extra cost to you. Retailers do not share your personal purchase data with us.
Data retention & deletion
Newsletter addresses are kept until you unsubscribe. Instagram conversation records are kept only as long as needed to operate our replies. Order records — your name, phone number, address and what you ordered — are kept as long as needed for fulfilment and to resolve any dispute about the order. We have not yet fixed a specific number of days or years for that; if you would like your order history deleted sooner, send us a DM on Instagram (@homeio_official) and we'll act on it once any open order is settled. To request deletion of any other data we hold about you, the same channel works — we'll confirm within 7 days.
Cookies
The public site uses only essential cookies (if any), plus a session cookie once you sign in to place or view an order. We do not run third-party ad trackers.
